Riot ACCOUNT MIGRATION Hub & Site
Presented for League of Legends and TFT
When Riot Games migrated its SEA services away from 3rd party management they developed this microsite to encourage and compensate players during the transition.
Responsibilities included building site wireframes, creating a custom-themed user interface, and managing site assets across desktop, mobile, and in-game hub sizes.
Artwork provided by Riot Games. Poro creator illustrations created in-house.
The experience walked players through their migration journey with side-scrolling parallaxed backgrounds.
All screens were developed for a web-based microsite, desktop, mobile, and for the in-game League of Legends hub.
Custom Profile Builder
After completing the process, to celebrate, players could build a custom Poro avatar in a bespoke avatar creator that managed over 100+ individual assets.
In-Game Hub
A special welcome screen would greet SEA players in-game, linking them to the microsite as well as providing a timeline for the limited-time transfer opportunity.
Learnings
& Process
The UI of the site was developed to be approachable and user-friendly, streamlining users through their migration with a literal side-scrolling flow and rewarding them with a chance to create a custom icon.
An unexpected challenge of the Migration Microsite was managing the custom poro creator. Due to the sheer amount of assets created for this portion of the experience, it required extra attention to the system of how files were organized and shared with the dev team. It was during this process that I worked closely with the dev team to understand the most efficient methods of setting up files for them to extract down the line.
