Learnings
& Process
Jupiter’s Calim provided an interesting challenge on the UI front. It was designed to be a modern functioning site with complex interactions and changing states, however it also had to look and feel like a late 2000’s era website with minimal professional involvement.
The dynamic light and dark modes would randomly surprise visitors with altered visuals and music, giving visitors a brief chance to hunt for clues related to the movie prior to the film’s release. The limited window for engagement proved useful for longer time spent on the site per user. The AR lens was provided as a reward to encourage visitors to interact with all of the site’s POI before leaving.
The intrigue of the site generated viral attention, emphasizing the film’s secretive production and building into the hype of NOPE’s release.
